  5. DESCRIPTION
  6. ===========
  7. WinLoad automatically loads DOS- and Windows-Applications after Windows has
  8. been booted. It does this "in the background", that means that you can begin
  9. your work immediately after Windows has been booted.
  10.  
  11. WinLoad must be loaded at start time of Windows (minimized!). It then starts
  12. applications from a program list in the given order.
  13.  
  14. When WinLoad has loaded an application, it waits a short (user definable)
  15. time before it loads the next application.
  16.  
  17. For each application in the list it is possible to select it's name and
  18. parameters, it's initial window size (minimized, normal or maximized) and
  19. the delay time (the time WinLoad waits before loading the application).
  20. The programs from the list can be loaded after(!) the Windows boot
  21. process has finished.

  23. The command line of the next application along with the initial window
  24. size and the delay time are displayed in WinLoad's main window.

  26. WinLoad terminates automatically after all applications have been loaded.

  28. INSTALLATION
  29. ============
  30. To do this only the following is required:
  31. * copy the files WINLOAD.EXE, WINLOAD.TXT and WINLOAD.HLP to the directory
  32.   where you want to have them (WINLOAD.EXE and WINLOAD.HLP must be in the
  33.   same directory in order to access online help),
  34. * make a copy of your current WIN.INI (after successfull installation of
  35.   WINLOAD you can delete the copy!),
  36. * add WINLOAD.EXE as usual to one of your program groups (only needed for
  37.   initialization or changes of setup).

  39. Prepare WinLoad to load your applications
  40. =========================================
  41. Start WinLoad as a usual Windows application, e.g. by double clicking on the
  42. WinLoad icon in the program managers group window. The WinLoad main window
  43. and then the SetUp dialog box should appear on the screen.

  45. You should then start the Windows Help Application by pressing the "Help"
  46. button of the SetUp dialog box or selecting "Help" from WinLoad main
  47. window's system menu; detailed information will be presented to you!

  51. WinLoad is CharityWare. It may be copied and used freely by anyone, as long
  52. as WinLoad.EXE, WinLoad.HLP and WinLoad.TXT are copied together and nothing
  53. has been changed. If you find WinLoad useful and continue to use it, please
  54. give something for charity to an organisation you think to be worth it (e.g.
  55. 1% of your monthly income, or more).

  66. Although WinLoad was developed and tested very carefully, the author cannot

  68. program, it's your own risk! WinLoad seems to work fine on the author's
  69. machines. He uses it every day and it has never crashed anything. But if it
  70. does so on your computer be aware that you use(d) it on your own risk.
